Blood Brothers host dinners in JHB and London

clip_image002Bakkies Botha and Victor Matfield recently hosted to glittering events as part of their Blood Borthers Testimonials.

The first was the official launch of the Testimonial in Johannesburg and the second was in London.

As part of the end of year tour, Victor and Bakkies entertained corporates at a memorable evening in the run up to the England v South Africa game. Joined by team mates and past and present England players, it was an evening to remember.

The Blood Brothers Testimonial has been created to recognise and reward Matfield and Botha for their long- standing service to South African Rugby over their distinguished careers.

The primary aim for the Testimonial is to raise funds for two truly worthy causes, the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Foundation and the Children’s Hospital Trust which Victor and Bakkies have designated as their respective charities.

Furthermore, the Testimonial provides the players with the opportunity to say thank you to the fans & corporate South Africa for the huge support  that they have enjoyed throughout their playing careers.

About The WSPCF

The Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Foundation (WSPCF) is a philanthropic paediatric cardiac foundation for Africa, focussing on delivering life-saving surgery for underprivileged children with congenital heart disorders from across Africa. It also aims to develop diagnostic and treatment skills amongst Africa’s medical fraternity and conducts critical research into paediatric cardiac healthcare. The cardiac surgery or intervention is undertaken at the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa situated in Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg, , as well as at Cape Town’s Netcare Christian Barnard Memorial and Red Cross Children’s Hospitals. The WSPCF was founded by Dr. Robin Kinsley in 2003, and was established as a living legacy to the late Walter Sisulu and his widow, Albertina, both of whom dedicated their lives to helping children in need.
