We are delighted to announce the commencement of our Skills Exchange Pilot Project between WSPCCA and the German Heart Centre Munich, sponsored by The Vodacom Foundation.
Perfusionist, Mr Eddie Zwicky, was our first colleague to attend. He left on 25 September and returned on 2 October. His feedback via SMS communication with Lynda
“Hi Lynda, Day 1 over. All very nice to me especially the doctors. Very intense day. All gone to October Festival, but not me, I’ll survive!” followed by “Hi Lynda, day 3 down. Learning a lot. Our unit is really good too. Dr Schreiber really looking after me. Being forced to go to October festival tomorrow totally against my will” followed by Day 7 “ Hi Lynda, home safe, Very tired but that has nothing to do with October festival……Learnt an incredible amount, Dr Schreiber was great!”
Thanks for being our first exchange colleague Eddie and thanks to Dr Christian Schreiber, paediatric cardiac surgeon in Munich who is facilitating our exchange.
Both Vicky and Thereza are unbelievably grateful and excited to be going on this three-week trip, which promises to be highly beneficial for them, and for the WSPCCA cardiac unit as they learn about international best practices in cardiac medicine and care.
“We appreciate working with the WSPCCA because it’s a very good cause Our thanks go out to the Vodacom Foundation for the funds to send us to Germany, and also to Lynda and Dr. Kinsley for their ongoing support,” Vicky and Thereza said.
