The Reach for a Dream Foundation has become a partner of the WSPCCA, after it added cardiac disease to its list of recognised terminal illnesses.

This follows the heart-warming story of little Hezikiel Rangonza who came to the WSPCCA from Zimbabwe, and was unfortunately in an inoperable stage of his disorder—needing a total heart and lung transplant.  Lynda
contacted the Reach for a Dream Foundation and they generously  granted him the wish of a Sandton City shopping spree, before he returned to Zimbabwe with his mom.

The WSPCCA continues to support Hezikile with medication as his disease progresses.

As a partner of the WSPCCA, Reach for a Dream will grant every sponsored child at the WSPCCA a dream of their choice, which will ensure that their “ordeal” is just that much more bearable.  HUGE thanks go to Brian and Angie from the Reach for a Dream Foundation.

About The WSPCF

The Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Foundation (WSPCF) is a philanthropic paediatric cardiac foundation for Africa, focussing on delivering life-saving surgery for underprivileged children with congenital heart disorders from across Africa. It also aims to develop diagnostic and treatment skills amongst Africa’s medical fraternity and conducts critical research into paediatric cardiac healthcare. The cardiac surgery or intervention is undertaken at the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa situated in Netcare Sunninghill Hospital in Johannesburg, , as well as at Cape Town’s Netcare Christian Barnard Memorial and Red Cross Children’s Hospitals. The WSPCF was founded by Dr. Robin Kinsley in 2003, and was established as a living legacy to the late Walter Sisulu and his widow, Albertina, both of whom dedicated their lives to helping children in need.
